AI takeoff software uses computer vision and language models to read construction drawings and count or measure items automatically, instead of an estimator clicking every symbol and tracing every run. Yes, with review. BidSync AI reads the title block to tell which discipline a sheet belongs to (civil, plumbing, electrical and so on), skips sheets that are only general notes, and extracts counted items (EA) and linear runs (LF). Lengths are only reported when the sheet scale can be confirmed; otherwise the item is flagged so a person can set the scale.

You still need an estimator. BidSync AI drafts the takeoff and your estimator decides: every item shows its source sheet and a confidence score, low-confidence items are flagged, and nothing goes into your number until someone approves it. Yes. Takeoff results are grouped by system (sewer, water, storm and others) and by category (pipe, fittings, structures, valves, hydrants, meters, services), with subtotals per group. Items are matched to a standard assembly library organized the same way, including structures such as manholes, catch basins, headwalls and box culverts.
